A Little Update

…since my last post, which was oh, so long ago.

And which was about my car—which I have since sold. (Yay!) My dream is to never have to own another car for the rest of my life.

Luckily, as of May 1 (landlord approval and lease finalized TODAY), I will live in a city that will make that possible (if not forever, then at least for a while): New York. Brooklyn, specifically. Park Slope, to be precise.

In a lovely little duplex with a backyard and a fireplace. And public transportation to get me anywhere I need to go.

No job quite yet; hopefully that’ll be just around the corner. Luckily, selling my car gave me just enough of a financial cushion to relieve the panic.

And so, in two short weeks, I’ll be off. Gone from here and on to start my new adventure.

Deeply sorry, dear Detroit. A nomad can never rest in one place too long, and darling, it has been just that.

Aix Nostalgia

The New York Times just did one of their “24 Hours in…” stories about Aix-en-Provence. I’ve been to some of the places in the article, but I’d bet my experience there would have been incomparably different if I had had any money. It’s such a lovely little town, but so expensive. And sort of boring if you’re poor. One day I’d like to go back with some actual cash and have a new kind of experience there. Any rich people interested in funding this kind of excursion? Let me know. (Thanks in advance.)
